My beloved Appachi was the heart of our family—a devoted wife, caring mother and loving grandmother who gave so much of herself to those around her. She had a quiet warmth and generosity that made everyone feel welcomed, comforted and loved.
I will always remember her delicious Jaffna cooking—soft appam, fragrant mutton curry, chicken pirattal and murungakkai picked fresh from the tree in her garden. Her cooking was more than food; it was one of the many ways she expressed her love and nurtured us, bringing our family together.
Including Appachi’s life and memories in the Ninaivumalar is a meaningful way of preserving her story and our family’s heritage. I hope younger generations will read it and come to know the wonderful lady she was, even if they never had the chance to meet her.
